Position Description
Perform visual and dimensional inspection of aircraft components and assemblies, including Customer Furnished Equipment, Supplier Parts, Threaded Fasteners, Major Body Sections and other materials received for conformance with latest drawings and specifications. Inspect for compliance to identification marking, shipping requirements, packaging of material and completeness of assemblies. Insure product conforms with purchase orders and inspection plans. Using on-line computing systems initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies or portions thereof according to specifications, processes and procedures. Perform audit/ surveillance of all manufacturing and quality assurance processes, according to specifications, processes and procedures.
Competencies
Candidate must have a clear understanding of assembly and manufacturing processes and be able to operate various types of precision measuring equipment. Good written and verbal communication as well as proficient use of mathematics such as shop math is required. Candidate must be proficient with a computer and be familiar with the Microsoft office suite of programs. Must be able to work with others as part of a team which includes giving and receiving feedback, assisting others in completion of tasks, and must possess interpersonal, listening, and participation skills. Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and be capable of visualizing a three-dimensional shape from a two-dimensional view, converting left-hand to right-hand views and understanding symbols, flag notes, and general notes. Must be a self-starter with great attention to detail to ensure that all hardware, paperwork and data are accurate.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED and 5 to 10 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Vision: Candidates must pass visual acuity and color perception eye examination tests. Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on limited basis. Pushing/Pulling: Must be able to push/pull up to 100 lbs. on limited basis. Reaching: Must be able to reach overhead and at or above shoulder on a limited basis. Sitting: Must be able to sit in an office chair or stool at a bench to perform computer transactions for up to 3 hrs. Walking: Must be able to navigate on limited basis uneven/narrow surfaces, ladders or stairs/steps. Must be able to occasionally walk on flat surfaces for up to 3 hrs; primarily concrete floors. Standing: Must be able to stand on limited basis on uneven/narrow surfaces, ladders or stairs/steps. Must be able to occasionally stand on flat surfaces for up to 3 hrs; primarily concrete floors. Balancing: Must be able to balance on limited basis on uneven/narrow surfaces, ladders or stairs/steps. This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement. This is a 2nd shift position.
