HSMM is searching for aStructural Engineer 3 to:
Provide structural analysis and design, including the sizing of structural members, foundation design, lateral bracing design and structural design using commercial software.
Provide field observations, checking of shop drawings, and as-builts.
Perform specific building project design and development tasks, including reports, drawings, calculations, cost estimates, specifications, and quality control review.
Respond to client questions and comments.
Review contractor submittals.
Provide clarifications during construction.
Adhere to accepted industry and company standards.
Plan, schedule, conduct, coordinate and direct the development of project requirements.
Review and understand drawings prepared by other disciplines, and communicate with those disciplines to ensure project documents are completely coordinated.
Coordinate/review the work of other engineers, designers, and CADD technicians.
Job Requirements:
B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structures, minimum; M.S., or advanced design courses, desirable.
6 years experience in a related field; at least 4 years with an Architectural, Engineering, or A/E firm designing buildings and producing construction contract documents.
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer.
AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience.
Must have a thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry.
Limited travel as required to meet training and project requirements.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Steel, concrete, masonry and timber structural design of buildings; design of foundations, parking structures, and civil-type structures.
Use of computer software for structural analysis and design.
