John Deere Waterloo Works is seeking a Supply Management Specialist to lead and/or support the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, meeting Enterprise delivery objectives and Enterprise Order Fulfillment requirements/goals on product cost, schedule and quality for the enterprise/region/division/unit. In this position, you will:
Develop and implements purchasing strategies for North American Agricultural Division Service Parts.
Drive continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality, delivery and inventory performance.
Coordinate and lead efforts to address and resolve chronic supplier performance issues.
Maintain Fill Rates at or above departmental and division goal level.
Implement cost reduction processes and strategies to meet departmental/division goals.
Work with various interdisciplinary groups (Parts Distribution Center, Marketing, Engineering, and Product Support) to support divisional relationships and processes.
Resolve shipping, receiving, invoicing and payment problems to ensure prompt and accurate payments to suppliers.
Support Engineering Change Management process so changes are implemented in a timely cost effective manner.
Work with planners to order and expedite parts as necessary to support customer requirements.
Coordinate corrective action with delinquent suppliers to ensure they improve delivery performance.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business/Management, Supply management, Engineering/Technology or Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Ability to interact and communicate with Supply Base.
Ability to interpret Engineering drawings and specifications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Skilled in interpersonal communications and conflict resolution skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
Knowledge of unit processes and operations.
Knowledge of supply management, product support or engineering systems, processes and practices.
Prior supply chain experience.
