This market is strategically important to Microsoft for a number of reasons, among them:
*The embedded market opportunity is significantly larger than the entire PC market and is growing more rapidly (e.g., from ~348 million devices in 2004 to a projection of 1.4 billion devices in 2009)
* Windows CE is well positioned to empower the next generation of devices that are connected to Microsoft assets such as Windows Vista PCs, Servers and Live Services
* The "next big thing" will likely be an embedded device, and Windows CE provides the opportunity for Microsoft to take a leading role
The position requires:
* Excellent C/C++ programming skills
* Practical experience with at least one or two of these; demonstrated success at dealing with ambiguous problems; and the ability to make solid progress when the solution is not well defined
* Proven cross group collaboration skills
* A least 3 years of experience in designing, developing and shipping software products during complete product cycle for at least one commercial product
* Excellent organizational, communication, and motivational skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
