Candidate will serve as the subject matter expert, providing guidance to the Gasification Technology teams regarding applicable national, international, and industry codes and standards. Candidate will coordinate with the Chief Engineer's Office, Quality team, as well as outside organizations, such as, ASME, ANSI, API, ISA, PIP, etc to ensure that GE's Gasification products are current with the appropriate industry standards. This includes representing Gasification Technology on the Product Compliance Management Team to ensure that codes and standards compliance is built into the business' New Product Introduction (NPI), Issuance to Order (ITO), and Order to Remittance (OTR) processes. Candidate will be required to have understanding of non-US codes and standards to support non-US projects.

Qualifications

* Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Safety or Chemical Engieneering from an accredited university.

* Minimum of 5 years experience identifying, interpreting, and applying industry codes and standards to the design of process plant systems/equipment.

Additional Requirements:

* You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process

* You must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.

* You must be willing to work in Houston, TX.

Desired

* Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt certified (GE employees only).

* 4+ years experience in the petrochemical industry.

* Advanced degree in Mechanical, Safety, or Chemical Engineering, or related field.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interface at all levels of the organization.
