John Deere Phoenix International is seeking a Business Development Specialist to implement business development strategies and promotional tactics for targeted markets and customers. In this position, you will:
Lead Proposal Teams in response to targeted customer RFQ’s to develop innovative product concepts, execute competitive cost estimates, utilize financial analysis tools to support a competitive pricing offer, and prepare winning proposals.
Utilize the Business Development process for new customer introduction and approval.
Support legal resources to formalize development and supply contracts, and support project and customer launch and transitions to the teams that will carry through project and product delivery.
Education
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
MBA is preferred.
Required Skills and Experience
5-7 years in a customer-facing role, with three or more years in OEM sales, program and/or product management.
Experience in the custom electronic product business.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills required. Must be effective in creating presentations and communicating concepts and strategies through power point presentations and written proposals.
Excellent presentations skills with ability to respond to questions from managers and customers.
Strong organizational skills, self directed, entrepreneurial nature.
Willing to undertake travel both nationally and internationally - up to 25%.
Desired Skills and Experience
Good business acumen with previously demonstrated financial analysis ability, and accountability is preferred.
Product development and manufacturing exposure is preferred.
Background in agriculture, construction, automotive or industrial equipment industry is preferred.
