Due to growth and expansion, American Infrastructure - Virginia is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent to join their winning team. · This position plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. · Conducts all work in accordance with American Infrastructure policies, procedures, and programs. - Demonstrates multi-disciplinary experience in at least two trade disciplines (ex: Excavation, Pipe, Concrete). – · Follows the AI Corporate Safety Program including preplanning to identify conditions and exposures, and accident investigation and reporting. – · Coordinates and cooperates with other superintendents and the customer to implement successful project plans. – · Supervises, maintains communication, and mentors/coaches field managers. Assists field managers in the management process of crews. Participates as required with the in-house pre-construction planning procedure and development of the project schedule. – · Encourages and promotes teaming, motivation, people development, the Collaborative Way and retention with crewmembers. – · Interprets and monitors cost reports. Reviews job costs with Project Manager and Foremen. Attends monthly job cost meetings. – · Administers timely and accurate paperwork/documentation for project related activities to include: Change Orders, T & M, Purchase Orders, and Payroll. – · Learns all the details of the plans and specifications of the project assigned. Reviews, discusses, and fully comprehends the estimate, man-hour budget and production rates. Ensures the Project Team understands the scope of the work assigned, including the man-hour budget and production rates. – · Participates in the pre-construction meeting with the owner or the owner representative. - Attends and gives input to weekly schedules with the Project Manager, as required. - Coordinate with Operations on the projects needs for equipment and labor. Assists Project Manager in preparing estimates for payment. Manages suppliers and subcontractors, in conjunction with the Project Manager, to ensure safety, profit, and scheduling and customer satisfaction. · Makes every effort not to have any punch list items. Completes all punch list items in a timely manner. Remembers retain age may be held until punch list items are complete. Designates rework from punch list items. · Employs Best Practices in planning and organizing work to maximize potential crew productivity and maximizing equipment utilization levels by ensuring availability and operator effectiveness. · Ensures customer satisfaction in all Customer and Inspector relations and interactions Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required; additional construction-related coursework desirable- 5 to 7 years of construction experience with at least 2 years of pertinent construction management experience required; experience in multiple trade disciplines preferred. - Basic proficiency in business processes, including contractual and legal procedures. - Basic proficiency in written and verbal business communications skills. - Basic computer skill proficiency. - Basic proficiency in reading and interpreting contracts and specifications. - Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
