Job Overview:



ATMI is seeking a high energy Financial Analyst for our Danbury, Connecticut office. This person will directly support the operation of our most critical business segment and act as the primary accounting and financial liaison with our largest and most significant contract manufacturing and distribution partner. This role offers tremendous visibility across the global organization and affords unlimited career growth potential. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial guidance for both strategic and day-to-day activities, allowing for full responsibility for budgeting, controls and status reporting for our manufacturing operation. You will be responsible for influencing the Operations organization and will lead and provide direction on asset utilization, make versus buy recommendations, contract management, cost control and gross profit improvements. This position reports to the Operations Finance Manager.



Primary Responsibilities:



Responsible for all financial aspects of our largest and most critical manufacturing and distribution contract, including monthly contract accounting and reporting, the assessment of contractual compliance, the implementation of process improvements, and cost monitoring and negotiation;
Analyze, model and forecast cost performance;
Assess trends, make and present planning recommendations and identify and lead cost improvement opportunities. This includes active involvement in regular planning and budget cycles, as well as conducting ad hoc analysis and modeling;
Assist plant management in developing financial targets and related metrics consistent with ATMI's strategic and financial plan. Analyze the business on a regular basis according to the financial metrics to determine if the activities are consistent with achieving the company's financial goals;
Analyze budgets, forecasts, strategies and tactics for managing company resources to maximize profits and return;
Assist and hold business partners accountable while driving projects to achieve established targets. This may include leading multiple cross-functional teams;
Partner with Supply Chain organization in make versus buy analysis and other sourcing decisions;
Responsible for understanding all inventory changes and driving improvement in inventory performance while satisfying customer requirements;
Support all internal and external audit activities as they relate to the operation;
Support the global facilities organization;
Coordinate global capital forecasting and analysis;
Support consolidation activities for purchasing and capital budgets.
Communicate financial analysis to management and/or executive leadership;
Educate decision makers on techniques employed in analysis;
Actively participate in Strategic Long-Range Planning and Operating Plan process;
Ability to do some travel, both domestically and internationally.


Education/Experience:



B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance required, with MBA or CPA highly preferred;
6+ years accounting experience, with at least 2 years spent in direct business support;
Demonstrated strong accounting knowledge;
Excellent math, analytical, problem-solving, financial modeling and MS Excel skills;
Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently create and present reports and recommendations to management in both verbal and written format;
Oracle and Business Objects experience a plus.
