Explanation Statement
John Deere Product Engineering Center is seeking a Drivetrain Test Engineer to oversee testing and coordinate daily activities in the test bay. Ensure that wage personnel are properly supported and informed. In this position, you will:
Develop test criteria, including duty cycle, performance parameters and pass/fail criteria for drivetrain components and systems.
Recognize critical issues and effectively communicate to management in a timely manner. Also work with management to establish priority.
Capture test program requirements in Microsoft Project & integrate into master schedule.
Seek ways to improve test stand efficiency by continuous improvement.
Complete test reports in timely fashion & make them available to organization.
Meet commitments & consistently deliver quality data for product verification & validation assessment.
Ensure that test parameters are linked to design parameters.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
Required Skills and Experience
Engineering and/or product testing experience.
Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral.
Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
Strong aptitude and hands on experience with mechanical equipment and/or components.
Ability to resolve complex problems.
Desired Skills and Experience
Data analysis skills using Windaq, Somat, MathLab, or equivalent.
Experience with project management including the use of Microsoft Project or other software.
Drivetrain design or testing experience.
Agricultural or farming background.
Master's degree.
