The Xbox 360 and Games for Windows Global Publishing business supports the distribution and publishing of video games by major video game publishers such as Electronic Arts, Activision and Take-Two. Global Publishing is one of the key profit drivers for the entire Xbox 360 initiative. We are looking for a highly motivated finance professional to drive financial performance, financial analysis and business insight for the Global Publishing Finance team. In this challenging role, you will have the opportunity to work with multiple functional disciplines within Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, including business development, account management, marketing and regional sales and localization teams. In addition, this position provides meaningful opportunities to stretch on big challenges, impact business performance, and attain experience working on an end-to-end P&L.
Responsibilities include:
Drive financial and business insight across the Global Publishing business
Fiscal management of the Global Publishing Partners P&L (games published by third parties but distributed by Microsoft) including driving annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and regular reporting, including all revenues and expenses
Build relationships with regional marketing, localization and royalty teams to play a critical role in day-to-day business activities and long-term financial planning
Develop clear, succinct business communication tools to effectively communicate business trends and operations
Participate on cross collaboration teams to assist in business plans regarding future game initiatives by providing insightful business modeling and analysis
Ensure accounting accuracy for MAAP, GAAP, and SOX purposes
An ideal candidate is a self-starter who excels at framing problems and is comfortable dealing with and making decisions in ambiguous environments. This position involves a significant amount of exposure to senior management and requires the ability to communicate ideas and analysis effectively, thereby influencing business decisions.
Minimum Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
B.S. / B.A. Finance or Business
4-6 years experience in accounting, financial planning, analysis & reporting
Self-starter, eager to take on challenges, and drive process improvements
Candidate must have the ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of management, with a demonstrated ability to guide, educate, & influence the thinking of senior decision makers, and a proven ability to successfully lead projects.
Experience using Microsoft internal systems such as MS Sales, MARS, MS People, Calypso and SAP
Power to Advanced user of Excel for reporting, analysis and business modeling
Solid understanding of other MS Office applications
