John Deere Agricultural Equipment is seeking a Paint Engineer to provide engineering support of plant wide "Wet on Wet" paint systems meeting paint quality and production efficiency requirements. In this position, you will:
Conduct paint defect Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Conduct supplier paint quality audits.
Support paint system Preventative Maintenance (PM).
Lead paint formulation improvement initiatives and paint equipment improvement initiatives.
Support class room and "on the job" painter training.
Support "new paint systems" design team.
Cross train with second paint engineer and cover for second paint engineer as needed.
Lead other paint related engineering tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a Technical/Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
3 + years technical or engineering background dealing with paint systems ("e" coat, wet on wet, powder coat and/or dip systems).
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience with large paint systems ("e" coat and/or "wet on wet").
3 + years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
