This position is responsible for managing Platts key strategic accounts in North America in order to retain and grow existing business while maintaining a strong and trusting business partnership with these customers. It involves carefully identifying their needs and consulting with them to determine how these needs can be fulfilled by the wide range of Platts products across all market segments (shipping, petroleum, petrochemical, power, gas, coal, nuclear, metals) and ensuring a high level of service is delivered. The BDM is the primary customer contact for new business and will negotiate and draft contracts. Accounts include utilities, financial institutions, and energy companies.
Required :
3+ years proven and consistent consultative sales experience of intangible and high value information or software products.
Strong account management and cold-calling skills.
Must be a strong negotiator and skilled in drafting contracts.
Ability to sell to all levels within a company and learn quickly.
Excellent presentation skills and follow up skills.
Ability to work as a team to ensure efficient and consistent way of addressing client needs.
