Advertising Product Planner:
Are you passionate about gaming, digital entertainment, and contributing in a significant way to an emerging business venture? Did you know that digital entertainment and gaming are considered two of the hottest media outlets for marketers? If you enthusiastically said "Yes!" to these questions, we want to hear from you.
The E&D Advertising Business Group is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial person to help make our casual gaming properties more compelling for advertisers and more profitable for Microsoft and our partners by optimizing an emerging trend. Consumers are increasingly using their leisure time to play video games in lieu of traditional TV viewing, and advertisers have taken note of this trend and are attempting to reach consumers in and around video games and devices. And thanks to our advertisers, we are keeping the majority of our gaming content free to our growing user base.
In partnership with the games product teams, our E&D Ad Product Team develops breakthrough advertising/sponsorship solutions across Xbox Live, casual games, and eventually Zune, IPTV and Windows Mobile. We are seeking a Product Planner to define, implement, and develop the ad products for the casual games side of our business including MSN Games, Messenger Games, and Games for Windows (new opportunity). We want to develop a long-term approach to the business by creating innovative and impactful marketing solutions for clients that are simple to sell, buy, and execute, and which ideally add value to the end user's experience. The planner will be the key point of contact collaborating with Microsoft Digital Ad Solutions.
The Product Planner must have a strong understanding and passion for media buying and selling, digital ad products, advertising, trade marketing and online services. You must be able to balance multiple (often competing) strategic and tactical priorities. You must have a proven ability to build relationships, motivate others who do not work for you, and lead cross-group efforts.
The successful candidate will have a relentless curiosity about customers, innovative ideas and the drive to see them implemented. You will help shape our business strategy and define the ad supported services, ad product roadmap, conduct market specific research on advertising and promotions, conduct business modeling and marketing sizing, collaborate with product teams on defining technical requirements and placement vehicles that maximize ROI, create and implement efficient processes and systems, develop and evaluate a wide range of business models, and work with Microsoft Digital Ad Solutions to take products to market.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in media planning or buying (preferably online), marketing software or services, relevant program or product management and will possess a solid understanding of online advertising and branded entertainment. Agency experience is a plus. A BA/BS degree is required. Candidates must possess energy, a drive for results, team orientation, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Position will require limited travel.
