We currently have an outstanding opportunity for aBusiness Finance and Modeling Manager, Publishing for our team. The position can be located inBurr Ridge, IL or Monterey, CA.



The Business Finance and Modeling Manager, Publishing is responsible for providing systematic business and financial analysis and support for the Publishing Department consisting of Content Development, Publishing Services, Publishing Project Management, and Product Management. Manage small team of cost analysts (1 fte/2 kelly) to oversee all department and project budgets, metrics tracking, market analysis, proposal development, process improvement, productivity and workload analysis.

Provide on-going support to help develop and manage department, project, and proposal budgets. Track and analyze expense budgets on a monthly basis; explain fluctuations and anomalies in expenses and make necessary adjustments.
Monitor and report department and project metrics utilizing graphical representations. Provide analyses and support for process improvement metrics, productivity initiatives and workload analyses.
Manage team of up to 5 staff members, including cost analysts and proposal/PPA manager.
Prepare market sizing analyses, market share estimates and product forecasts based on market sizing and market conditions across both shelf and custom.
Prepare financial justifications and documentation for proposals, new product business cases and PPAs.
Provide product revenue reports by month and quarter, as well as other periods, as required by the business Develop product pricing analyses, including margin structures, pricing sensitivity, and product bundling models.
Prepare product performance analyses as required; track financial performance of products in relationship to PPA projections, determining custom revenue and NOI attributed to shelf product utilization.
Construct financial models of specific business relationships with vendor partners and product service providers as necessary.
Liaison with the finance department in the reporting requirements of product development and Publishing project management.

Required :

BA/BS in Finance or Business required.
Three years’ recent experience with business finance and modeling in consumer products/product management required.
Min. one year management of direct reports.
Advance level proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Access.
Intermediate proficiency in the use of Word required.
Detail-oriented with strong knowledge and experience in the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Must be able to verify accurate cost estimates to other departments by providing detailed documentation.
Proven ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others is essential.
Must possess good communication skills, both written and oral.
Proven ability to meet schedule deadlines and apply problem-solving techniques to develop viable solutions.
Must be able to manage several projects at one time. Project schedules and backup must be complete, accurate and follow proper audit standards.

Desired :

MBA in Finance or equivalent
