This person is responsible for leading a team of talented people who drive revenue and loyalty through our retail partners by evangelizing Microsoft programs/products, transferring knowledge, creating enthusiasm, executing effectively at retail, and identifying new sales opportunities. This team focuses on training retail partners, developing training plans by initiative/category, managing training relationships with key retail accounts, providing feedback to Category Management, evangelizing Category Management's initiatives/priorities, effectively executing at the outlet level, creating an extended sales force through Retail Sales Professional (RSP) Champs and owning all RSP training/communication through each retails means and events. This person will need to develop strategic plans to drive revenue, emerging technologies and customer loyalty. They will be responsible for managing resources, budgets (operating, marketing, vendor), and developing people. Developing Business/Marketing Plans. Develop overall retail training team strategy and business plans based on collaboration with Retail Manager's, Category Management and account teams. Drive development of initiative/category training strategies inclusive of all RSP touch points (on-line, web, customized account training, one-to-many events). Manage relationships with internal organizations. Develop partnerships with Category Management, Retail Management Team (RMT), Communications Team, sales, merchandising, operations, legal and finance to ensure success. Develop and maintain relationships with retail partners. Drive agreement on key training objectives for respective initiatives/category with Category Management, sales and accounts. Evangelize training strategy and key takeaways with the Category Managers, account managers and externally with the account themselves. Communicate key issues and opportunities to RMT, Category Management and sales to program decisions in the category. Develop strategies with external vendors (Mosaic) for greater execution at retail and improved information flow to RSPs. Develop standardized tools and resources for the team to communicate and report timely information. Proactively work across many different internal groups and have positive influence with various internal contacts in knowing how to get things done at Microsoft. BA or 4 year equivalent degree (MBA a plus). 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the retail channel or product or channel marketing experience at Microsoft. Ability to lead and motivate others with a high level of selling and customer service skills. Proven strategic thinking and analytical skills with training, sales and trend analysis to drive accurate business planning and results. Proven successful experience at developing efficient work plans for complex projects involving many groups and effectively implementing and coordinating these plans. Proven ability to collaborate with cross functional groups and virtual teams. Strong knowledge of resellers financial and performance criteria. Excellent communication (verbal, written and presentation) and interpersonal skills; strong negotiation skills, self motivated and directed, requiring minimal supervision to get the job done; strong project management and organizational skills and influence others in multiple groups and collaborate to achieve specific objectives. Requires some travel.
