Product Manager, UI & User Experience
JOB DESCRIPTION
Microsoft TV is a division within Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division, alongside the Xbox, Zune, Media Center, and Windows Mobile businesses. We enable the future of television by helping broadband network operators deliver advanced IPTV services and new connected entertainment experiences to audiences worldwide.
The Product Management team has a current opportunity for a high achieving product manager.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Drive end-to-end planning and productization for all areas associated with our user experience and user interface utilizing a structured and disciplined approach
· Identify product opportunities and create business cases for how consumers will interact with various features of our products, including DVR, video on demand, etc.
· Formulate hypotheses and drive results on how consumers will discover video entertainment and how Microsoft can innovate in such an area (search, discovery, recommendations, etc.)
· Participate in cross-divisional strategy development around advanced UI/UX models
· Analyze customer segments/sizing, competitive landscape, customer requirements, value drivers, and market differentiators
· Develop user scenarios and lead research initiatives to understand consumer preferences
· Craft customer/user value proposition, and sales/marketing plans
The ideal candidate will have:
· MBA degree
· 5 years of relevant marketing experience - product group experience preferred
· Excellent analytical skills, strategy instincts, and business intuition
· Ability to develop audience insight via definition/execution of holistic research and analysis
· Exceptional cross-organization/cross-function project management and collaboration skills
· Credibility with the Engineering team, the field organization, and our customers
· Strong communication skills and adeptness in working with senior management
· Entertainment, digital media, and/or TV industry experience desirable, as is a background in consulting, product management, or business planning
This position will report to the Director of Product Management.
