Main Role of the Post :
To lead the development, validation and implementation of systems, processes and
procedures necessary to grow the pharmaceutical inhalation capabilities of PRC.
Responsible for the production of expert reports relating to the specialist aspects of
dosing, sampling and analysis . The Aerosol Technologist will work closely with Study
Directors to ensure that study requirements and schedules are met and to obtain a
smooth transition between preliminary work and the use of the equipment for dosing
by animal technicians.
Main Duties
1. Ensuring that best practice is employed for aerosol generation, exposure,
sampling, analysis and reporting.
2. Configuring systems for generating aerosols of test substances at requisite
concentrations;
3. Conducting and reporting studies which characterise the performance of dosing
equipment with respect to repeatability, homogeneity and particle size distribution;
4. Conducting and reporting studies involving the dosing of animals;
5. Monitoring, maintaining and reporting exposure levels for toxicology studies;
6. Instruction and method transfer to animal room technical staff; supervising and
training personnel assigned to own project teams.
7. Ensuring efficient maintenance, calibration and availability of the pool of aerosol
equipment in the Inhalation Group.
Other Duties:
Maintain and improve scientific content of expert reports and ensure a high standard
of accuracy and presentation in all forms of written communication.
Represent the Company at Client meetings and at scientific
meetings/symposia/conferences etc. as required.
