John Deere Des Moines Works is seeking a Technology Delivery Process (TDP) Test Engineer to be responsible for development and execution of complex test procedures that evaluate machines and components for Technology Development Programs for Self Propelled Sprayer. In this position, you will:
Have extensive interaction with the design group and external suppliers, and intimate knowledge of testing procedures and facilities/capabilities inside and external to John Deere.
Collaborate with the design engineers in defining test activities and acceptance criteria and develops the test procedures that verify and validate product performance.
Represent Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) in design reviews and FMEA's and presents to sprayer management data reviews of completed tests.
Use the Enterprise Product Verification & Validation Management System (V2Net) to develop and execute test plans, track progress on activities and reference related test activities.
Oversee lab, performance and durability testing activities including the efforts of the lab technicians and mechanics in the execution of project activities.
Utilize software and tools which support lab and field stress tests, durability tests, MTS, load measurements, HALT, EMI and structural analysis.
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Mechanical engineering knowledge and skills.
3+ years of product engineering experience.
Knowledge in engineering principles, theory and practice as well as product knowledge.
Excellent written and oral communication and team skills.
Ability to organize multiple projects and data simultaneously.
Desired Skills and Experience
Basic Pro/ENGINEER experience.
Electrical/electronics and software experience.
Design of Experiments methodology and familiarity.
Knowledge of low cycle fatigue and crack growth fundamentals.
