* Field Engineers provide on site technical direction and leadership during installation, startup, commissioning and maintenance to customer owned power generation and industrial facilities.
* Power generation includes customer owned utilities, marine drives, industrial power plants and nuclear power plants utilizing gas and steam turbines.
* Industrial facilities include power generation, marine, petrochemical, paper, steel, automotive and transportation industries.
* Prepares job-planning documents that define in the scope of outage to be performed through engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions.
* Liaises effectively with Service Manager utilizing customers' CTQ in job planning and execution.
* Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
* Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.
* Knowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintages.
* Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages.
* Troubleshoot mechanical operations and maintenance problems in the steam and/or gas turbine technologies.
Qualifications
* 3+ years in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
Eligibility Requirement:
* Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver's license.
Desired
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
* Significant travel with no restrictions and must have the ability to perform night work as required to meet business needs.
* Able to take long term assignments at customer power plant sites.
