Job Description:
* This position offers an exciting and challenging opportunity with Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) technology. Individuals will focus on providing various levels of technical and project engineering related support to both internal and external customers at different stages of the gasification project.
Responsibilities:
* Lead engineering scope for various types of Gasification projects from Inquiry-To-Order (ITO) stage, , Feasibility, preparation of Process Design Package (PDP), to Front End Engineering Definition (FEED) and into Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) phases.
* Coordinate, prepare, and maintain quality and delivery of gasification technical deliverables in support of customer specific applications.
* Conduct quality/consistent checks on engineering deliverables and facilitate engineering design reviews.
* Scope definition, schedule preparation and resource forecasting for gasification projects. Responsible for on-time deliverables and within budget for engineering scope during execution.
* Assist the Project Manager with the development of project engineering scope, resource loading and schedule.
* Manage technical information from multiple organizations including internal and external groups/customers.
* Assist in the preparation and delivery of project update presentations to customers, partners and management.
* Direct interaction with the IGCC Project Manager and Gasification design teams relating to the execution of project specific activities. Be the primary interface to/from the engineering team.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
* Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in a project-based engineering position.
Desired
* Previous experience in Gasification or Petrochemical process design.
* Proven project leadership skills.
* Green Belt Certification (GE employees only).
* Proven experience working in multi-functional engineering teams focused on basic design definition and/or detailed engineering activities for gasification, petrochemical or similar type project execution efforts.
* Proven organization and project planning skills.
* Strong interpersonal, presentation, facilitation and communication skills.
* Strong proficiency with computer and business applications.
* Willingness and ability to travel 10-20% as needed to support business deliverables.
