Position Description
As a member of the National Team, this is a staff position reporting directly to the CCM Team Lead. The position requires the ability to plan, organize, control and execute and provide oversight of the concept definition effort of the Discrimination Advanced Component definition activities. The candidate will lead the project for identification of advanced discrimination component definition, oversight of project artifact to define TRL maturity level, assessment of contribution to the BMDS and levels of goodness, documentation of components using case modeling and architecture references, methods for determining measures of performance for future architectures performance. Focus areas include developing technical performance measures, measures of effectiveness, measure of performance, component maturation schedules and research areas. This position requires coordinating closely academia, national laboratories, as well as the government FFRDC, industry counterparts at the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The candidate needs to be able to build teams relationships. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Creativity, Familiarity with technology assessment process, Project Management, Team Leadership, Engineering background, self-starter, demonstrated interpersonal communications skills, able to work with minimal supervision, ability to multi-task. Strong technical background in communications, command and control, weapons systems, familiarity in RADAR and Infrared (IR) sensor technology. Experience with the development of analytical tools including numerical modeling of complex systems. Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify highly-complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads, develops designs and conducts research that results in new requirements management methodologies or result in unique approaches that mitigate assessment/review findings.
