Job Title Pharmancy Consultant, Western Region
External Job Description The Pharmacy Consultant will provide coordination and consultation for clinically-oriented cross functional client implementations for the Hospira MMS business unit. He/She is responsible for providing primary educational support and process consultation to the client to promote successful implementation of the Hospira MedNet Medication Management Suite and other products/solutions as assigned.
The incumbent will periodically engage with Hospira clients subsequent to the initial implementation to provide consultation on how to maximize benefit received from Hospira MMS product/solution offerings. He/She will serve as a key Hospira representative to the health care community, including the hospital clinical support team and the Hospira Sales Organization. In addition, he/she will provide input to Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Medical and R&D by providing customer feedback and direct use experience to support corporate customer service, technology adoption and product development goals.
Candidate must be able to follow a defined process, while at the same time be flexible enough to tailor approach to client requirements. Candidates must have strong customer facing skills, good project management and organizational skills and a willingness to do/sell on services.
The position is field-based and requires up to 70% travel. The employee is required to lift and move up to 20 pounds of equipment. This is a long-term contract-based position. Targeted geographic area is the Western US.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Direct the technical/ clinical implementation of Medication Management System products, including the MedNet Suite of Products, for assigned clients.
? Guide hospital decision-makers and committees through process changes needed to improve IV therapy best practice and optimize the use of the Hospira MedNet System of products, especially the Hospira MedNet Meds application and system generated data reports.
? Develops/updates documents and tools to support the implementation of MMS products and product enhancements.
? Assists with coordination and provides consultation to clients conducting Trial Evaluations for Hospira MMS products.
? Responsible for training and responding to technical or clinical customer information requests.
? Develops new methods and tools for providing continuously improved product support.
? Provides support to various integrated product development teams and the Field Sales Team as a clinical team member.
? Participates in the definition and conduct of outcome-based studies for Hospira to document the economic advantages of using designated products.
? In conjunction with appropriate Marketing Manager, brings the customer perspective to new product/ feature definition by collating customer feedback to identify product concepts for the hospital marketplace, characterize user interface requirements and define product requirements.
? Authors clinical information bulletins to customers and the Hospira organization.
Skills/Experience Education/Certification BS Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred. Current pharmacy registration / license required.
? Current knowledge as to indication and dosing of intravenous medications commonly administered in an acute care institution
? 5+ years hospital pharmacy management/ clinical supervisory position or Clinical Consulting
? 5+ years clinical practice in an acute care setting; experienced with the conduction of clinical improvement initiatives.
? Strong interpersonal, communication, listening, problem solving and prioritization skills.
