Director Brand Marketing



Job Description: Reporting to the V.P. of Brand Marketing, this individual develops and manages brand strategy and positioning for HSN's home fashion, home solutions, consumer electronics, cooking, travel, crafts, health and fitness, and collectible categories and brands. This individual oversees strategic planning and tactical plans across channels and marketing disciplines, including both consumers and employees. They also oversee the execution of cross functional teams on process and programs; establishes and manages vendor relationships; and ensures timely reporting and compliance. Evaluates current and potential programs and strategies. Identifies areas of opportunity and improvement. Analyzes reports and information and makes recommendations to senior leadership and clients. Makes presentations to leadership on recommendations and strategies. Establishes and achieves financial and qualitative benchmarks. Manages a project budget. Manages campaigns and processes. Acts as an advocate for area. Provides reports to senior leadership as needed. Establishes, maintains and grows collaborative relationships throughout organization to maximize program/campaign goals. This individual is also responsible for developing, communicating and securing alignment for brand strategy, positioning, and guidelines for consistent brand messaging across all efforts. Also coordination of integrated marketing campaigns and communicating the overall brand vision for product launches, sustaining efforts, emerging businesses and existing key products

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Owns the brand positioning and marketing strategy and communications plan for HSN specific categories and brands.
Proactively develops integrated marketing communications plans for HSN categories and brand initiatives that fulfill HSN marketing objectives.
Oversees HSN brand strategy and positioning for: HSN Brand (TV and .com), Spokesperson/Celebrity Brands and Proprietary (non celebrity) Brands and key selling periods/events.
Provides knowledge and understanding about the HSN consumer, trends and shifts in the US retail and consumer landscapes to develop brand strategies.
Identifies new opportunities to enhance the overall customer experience and engagement leading to business growth.
Works with senior management to ensure brand priorities are reflected within the brand initiatives and aligned with strategic corporate goals.
Effectively analyzes and integrates information from multiple internal sources to develop energetic, transparent, and exciting brand strategies.
Develops strategic marketing plans and execute fully integrated annual/seasonal/specific brand initiatives and marketing plans across all marketing disciplines.
Develops and issues strategic/creative briefs for specific initiatives.
Works closely with Merchant, Programming, TV, Planning , Online and Strategy Groups to develop marketing and merchandising strategy, and identify and initiate specific HSN brand efforts.
Develops, issues and manages HSN category and specific partner brand guidelines and specific effort style guides.
Develops brand positioning, creates strategic marketing campaigns and communicates the overall brand vision.
Works closely with various internal groups to ensure proper brand execution through Programming, TV, Merchant, direct, Dot Com and Affiliates.
Executes co-op agreements with vendors to subsidize additional opportunities to drive increased viewership and incremental sales.
Collaborates with CRM to field and analyze consumer information to create effective targeted marketing plans to grow existing businesses and drive incremental sales.
Promotes a clear and achievable career growth plan for 4 to 6 direct reports.

Education: MBA preferred pr BA/BS in a related field



Minimum Requirements:

5-7 years brand marketing experience
Strong leadership, communication , team management and negotiation skills
Strong analytical, organizational, critical-thinking, problem-solving and presentation skills
Ability to interface across many business functions
Solid understanding of marketing and partnership management
Experience in managing internal and external resources in a team approach in a matrixed organization
Experience in brand management in retail or relevant categories
Ability to develop P&L/budget and manage monthly tracking to goal
Preferred Requirements:

High energy, passionate
Strategic brand marketing development and implementation in a retail environment
Media background in TV, or multi-channel electronic retailer
Results oriented with strong ROI marketing validation experience
