ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned).
Regular and reliable attendance.
Maintain a safe working environment for employees and clients.
Operate basic equipment used in facilities as well as assisting in repairs and maintenance of facility systems to insure their proper operating condition.
Performs meter reading activities in support of water system billings, schedule new meter sets and inspections.
This position may require the person to be available for 24 hour-a-day scheduling for emergency response coverage, if needed.
Recommend and order parts and materials, arrange for special outside repairs, and special equipment rentals, as approved.
Maintain repair and maintenance record keeping systems including those needed for permit reporting.
Provide assistance for repair of District facilities such as water operations (e.g., pumps, wells), wastewater operations (e.g., lift stations, pumps) and irrigation system operations (e.g., irrigation pump station).
May direct temporary laborers in completion of assignments
Uses designated vehicles to transport self / employees / equipment to job site.
Winter operations, position requires snow shoveling and equipment operation in cold and adverse weather conditions.
Cooperate, communicate and work together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job regularly requires extended standing, stooping, and lifting (up to 75lbs).
Regularly requires work in close proximity to traffic.
Occasional work in confined spaces.
Working in adverse weather conditions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have valid Colorado drivers license with a good driving record
One or more years of experience in facilities or related field.
