We are looking for a Software Design Engineer in Test to exercise and test the power management software components of the Zune devices. A qualified candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of C/C++ experience and software driver development or test. The candidate will have experience with power management for portable devices such as battery charging, dynamic frequency scaling, and balancing performance with reduced power modes. Experience with the Windows CE operating system is a plus. Experience with the BSP (Board Support Package) layer of the Windows CE operating system is a big plus. The BSP is the set of drivers which interface Windows CE to the hardware.
A successful candidate for this position is enthusiastic and motivated, with effective organizational and communication skills. They will have proven coding and debugging skills (C/C++), broad technical interests, be a quick learner and unafraid of jumping into new and unknown territories to help ship the product. A 4-year Computer Science, Electric Engineering degree, or related working experience is required.
