Telecom Engineer II
|
Job Description:
HSN is seeking a career minded individual to provide Tier II support for telephony technologies in a multi-site call center and corporate environment. The qualified candidate will demonstrate experience supporting and maintaining telephony switches, peripheral systems and equipment such as Nice Analyzer, call accounting, and voicemail.

Responsibilities:
Install, test, configure and maintain Avaya ACD/PBX, ancillary systems and equipment in a multi-site call center and corporate environment.
Integrate telephony systems with other call center applications such as CTI, IVR, Genesys call routing,
Tier II support for multiple call centers and corporate telephony, including TDM and VoIP telephony switches, CTI, call accounting, voicemail, name recognition software, reporting applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve TCP/IP, H323, G711, G729, SIP, VoIP, ISDN, TDM connectivity problems. Initiate and lead troubleshooting efforts as needed.
Maintain telephony circuits. Work with local and long distance carriers to resolve circuit connectivity issues.
Assist with development and implementation of new call center initiatives. Act as project team member as required for telephony related projects.
Condition and set up 800# applications and DNIS routing. Maintain accurate records of 800 numbers and DNIS.
Participate in special projects as assigned by department management.
Minimum Requirements:
3-5 years of specific industry experience maintaining, programming, troubleshooting and administering ACD, PBX, ancillary equipment and systems in a multi-site call center environment.
Call routing experience including carrier, DNIS.
An understanding of voice and data communications principles. Knowledge of communications protocols, such as ISDN, T-I, and VoIP.
Knowledge of CTI.
Must enjoy working in a dynamic fast paced environment.
Wear pager and participate in rotating on call responsibilities. Ability to be on-site within an hour of being paged, if necessary.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Experience with troubleshooting and resolving voice circuit problems.
Lead or participate in troubleshooting problems that involve multiple groups, and levels of employees.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in small, enclosed areas such as carrier POP.
Preferred Requirements:
Minimum of Associates Degree with a technical major.
Avaya certifications.
Avaya S8300, S8700, MAPD, CLAN, CMS, Modular Messaging experience.
VoIP experience.
Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and electrical schematics.
Microsoft server and Unix experience.
