* Responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity.

* Properly document technical data for assigned projects/tasks observing engineering policies and procedures.

* Responsible for complex major assignments with long-term business implications.
* Contribute to the overall strategy and manage complex issues within functional area of expertise.
*Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
Qualifications
*Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics.
*At least 3+ years of experience in an engineering position.

SYSTEM ENGINEERS:
*Predict and own total plant performance.
*Coordinate Heat and Mass Balances between process and Power Island.
* Review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and operating guidelines to ensure plant integration.
* Evaluate system integration during all modes of operation.
* Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
*Provide engineering support, within one's specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives.
ENVIRONMENTAL INTEGRATION:
* Perform calculations to assist clients in permitting, dispersion modeling, or to assess risks to the business.
* Develop water treatment solutions for an integrated process or IGCC plant.
* Review emissions to evaluate and optimize sub system technology developments at the plant level.
* Utilize statistical methods for robust process optimization.
* Assist in preparation of PFDs, P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and Tollgate reviews for Chief Engineer approvals.
* Air and water treatment permitting, CFR regulations, equipment design, test and analysis tools and systems.
* Storm water and NPDES permitting.
* Plant Commissioning & Startup.
* Regulate air quality engineering in a consulting, industrial/commercial, or agency setting, including NSR permitting (PSD and non-attainment), technology reviews, emissions inventory and Title V permitting, and regulatory compliance evaluations.
CONTROLS ENGINEER:
*Field startup engineering experience.
*Familiarity GE Mark VIe Control products.
*Experienced and knowledgeable with Distributed Control System (DCS) development and implementation.
*Experienced and knowledgeable with triplex safety systems development and implementation.
Desired Skills:
*Demonstrated technical expertise in Gasification and related technologies.
*MS degree in Engineering/Applied Science.
*FEP or Edison Program graduate (GE employees only).
*Green Belt Certified (GE employees only).
