Gaming on the Windows platform is a huge opportunity: each year over 14 million people play on MSN Games, over 60 million people play on Windows Live Messenger, DFC estimates more than 260 million people play games online on Windows, and countless millions more play Solitaire and Minesweeper and other in-box Windows OS games.
The Windows Gaming Experience (WGX) Windows Platform Development team is focused on making games a first class citizen on the Windows OS platform. Tasked with defining and implementing the Windows Gaming Platform efforts for Windows, this team is staffed to plan and develop specific platform enhancements for gaming on Windows. In addition this team coordinates and works in close cooperation with Windows gaming development efforts taking place across other groups in the Interactive Entertainment & Devices (IEB) division. Initially tasked with leading the future efforts on the Windows OS platform and gaming improvements for E&D, this team is the owner of the Windows gaming platform for Microsoft.

We are looking for a highly capable and motivated Release/Project manager who can bring their drive to help the team execute in shipping high quality products in a timely manner.

As Release Manager, you will:
Maintain clear communications with our operations team and our partner organizations around deployments to the various environments
Lead the planning of the release including: defining agreements on product deliverables and timeframes, executing against release criteria, and release plan documentation
Identify and track deployment of our product components across various environments into which our services will be deployed
Be a key communicator of project-related information across our partner teams
Own triage room, bug bars and the sign-off process
Identify and track key project metrics that are critical to success

Successful candidates will have:
3+ years of project management experience with at least two full software ship cycles
Exceptionally strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with a strong positive attitude.
Familiarity with multiple project management methodologies, including Scrum and is comfortable with their application to projects and release cycles with varying demands.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams
Ability to quickly grasp and prioritize technical issues
Extraordinary attention to detail and be exemplary in identifying problems before they occur.
A proven track record of successful process implementation and the ability to drive shared goals across multiple groups
Experience with CPX a plus
