Support the safety, quality, and productivity goals of the fuel fabrication operation.
Troubleshoot and upgrade highly specialized pellet center less grinding stations to improve product quality and enhance equipment performance/reliability. These systems are primarily PLC and PC-based real-time control systems with integrated HMI and high speed data acquisition.
Specify, procure, and troubleshoot necessary hardware control system components including the setup and calibration of laser micrometers and high-speed cameras.
Maintain, review, update and create area operating procedures (OPs), temporary operating procedures (TOPs), job hazards analyses (JHA), chemical job hazards analyses (CJHA) and software documentation for area.
Ensure compliance with all safety and quality regulations and metrics through use of compliance calendars, databases and tracking systems.
Train hourly employees in sound techniques and proper operation of equipment to meet safety, quality and output targets. As well, communicate and train hourly employees on changes to operating procedures.
Analyze and trend manufacturing data. Generate reports and/or make presentations related to daily operation and project status.
Identify and implement proactive solutions for incremental and game changing process improvements related to safety, quality and output through use of Lean and Six Sigma tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences discipline, or 4-year technical degree.
Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing control system design, development, implementation, and support.
Specific experience with C/C++, Visual Basic, and PC-based control systems.

Desired
Bachelors or Masters degree(s) in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
Experience working in a manufacturing operation with grinding and assembly processes.
Experience working in an environment requiring strict adherence to nuclear safety and criticality controls.
Experience with DSP programming.
Six Sigma Green Belt certified (GE Employee Only).
