Position Description
Provides expertise in aircraft/airport compatibility issues to include airport operations. Analyzes and documents airport infrastructure and provides recommendations for improvements. Surveys and documents airport infrastructure and provides recommendations for improvements. Participates in airport-related conferences, regulatory and industry meetings to disseminate trends and effect regulatory and airport infrastructure changes to improve compatibility with Boeing aircraft. Coaches and trains others. Work under minimal direction. The ideal candidate has skills within the following areas. Computing: MS Office desktop computing skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), AutoCAD 2004 or later, GIS, and Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop. Analytical skills: ability to document analyses and write reports, must have good public speaking skills, and must be able to work with internal/external customers on a cross-cultural basis. Knowledge of airport operations and infrastructure planning (US & International facilities) to include: airside operations, aircraft rescue & firefighting, aircraft fuel storage and dispensing, Air Traffic Systems (terminal based), navigational aids (NAVAIDS) - visual & electronic systems, Foreign Object Damage, winter operations, Joint-use Facility operations (civil/military), aviation regulatory and guidance documentation applicable to airports to include but not limited to material from the FAA (FARs & ACs), ICAO (Annexes, ADMs, ASMs), Military (US/NATO), and JAA (JAR-OPS), gate operations including aircraft handling, ground support equipment (non-maintenance), and aircraft characteristics as they impact the airport environment.

Extensive and specialized knowledge of federal aviation administration and foreign regulatory agencies procedures and regulations.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 9 to 13 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 7 to 11 years experience or a PhD degree with 4 to 8 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Other Job related information
Pluses include: status as Certified Member or Accredited Airport Executive of the AAAE, Pilot or Air Traffic Control license as benefit, and foreign language skills. Actual work at domestic and foreign airports/air bases is desired. Airport planning experience desired. Previous experience with civil or military airfield survey teams preferred.
