John Deere Credit was founded to offer financing solutions to the industries we serve and the customers we know best. In addition to providing retail, wholesale and lease financing to help customers buy John Deere equipment, we also serve the broader needs of the agricultural industry by offering revolving credit, input and operating loans to help farmers purchase needed supplies and services. John Deere Credit is looking for an Area Sales Manager to support the Farm Plan product for the Agricultural Financial Services (AFS) division in the states of western Iowa and eastern Nebraska and based in the Omaha area. This position will call on agribusiness retailers, dealers, and manufacturers offering John Deere Credit financial services, including accounts receivable and retail sales finance solutions. Responsibilities include:
Work with our AFS sales channel in the Midwest states of western Iowa and eastern Nebraska to capture accounts receivable and sales finance opportunities for our Farm Plan product.
Obtain ongoing commitment of agribusiness retailers, dealers, and manufacturers to incorporate Farm Plan into their business.
Provide follow-up service and training to agribusiness retailers, dealers, and manufacturers to consistently achieve territory objectives.
Provide project support for their manager or project from JDC office as a tactical or strategic resource. Mentor and provide coaching and leadership for less experienced sales managers and assist in the improvement of performance. Serve as a subject matter expert for Farm Plan by utilizing expert levels of skill, knowledge, and experience.
Administer pricing requests and resolve product service and performance issues with AFS sales channel/customers. Communicate with office staff regarding market concerns and customer issues to support profitable growth of the business.
Provide information regarding competitive product and market developments. Make recommendations for consideration based on conditions found in assigned territory.
Represent John Deere Credit (JDC) and Farm Plan at trade shows, conventions and at merchant sales meetings.
Education:
Degree in a Marketing or Business/Management discipline or equivalent experience.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong business acumen
Demonstrated successful sales experience, preferably in the agribusiness industry.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Knowledge of dealers/merchants/alliance partners, finance programs and products.
Successful negotiating and selling skills.
Knowledge of industry appropriate for area of responsibility (markets, products, competitors, customers, distribution trends).
Understanding of credit products or services and policies.
Financial services background desired.
Must be willing to travel within territory on a regular basis with a minimum 50% overnight expected
