Job Purpose: This position will lead design and performance improvements on turbochargers in use on 7FDL, 7HDL, and GEVO Medium Speed Diesel engine used on GE Locomotives. Must have understanding of Rotor Dynamics, Centrifugal Compressor Design, Hot side Design, Bearings design, Surge/Stall Management, Diesel Engine performance matching.
Essential Functions
Lead turbocharger design and development efforts
Lead turbocharger mapping tests to quantify performance characteristics
Write Design Specifications describing the design details and requirements for vendor activity
Lead cost out and service productivity projects
Create Validation test plans to prove the reliability of the designs
Create/Execute Emissions and Performance test plans.
Perform turbocharger application studies for various engine operating conditions
Lead Design Reviews and Concept selection reviews to support design activity

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
Minimum of three years experience with turbocharger design
Minimum of two years experience with diesel, gasoline, or gas reciprocating engine operation

Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt Certification
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or advanced degree
