Would you like to have a hand in building and managing a world-class entertainment service enjoyed by millions of people each day? The XBOX Live Services Operations Group is seeking a Release Manager to join our team.
You'll work with multiple teams across the organization to manage schedules and deployments for multiple environments. You will have a deep understanding of the environments to identify service dependencies, manage change control, risk and issues, and make change approval decisions. You'll facilitate planning and change request meetings and communicate status to team members and customers. You'll work alongside the Program Management team to drive improvements into our processes, documentation, and communication. The ability to track multiple releases simultaneously is key. You'll be a team player with a positive outlook even in the face of a growing team undergoing a huge amount of change. You'll help introduce formality and effective process changes that will help our organization mature. You have a track record for being part of the solution and find the win-win opportunities in every collaboration.
Specific requirements include:
* Basic understanding of MOF/ITIL
* Positive personality that people want to work with
* Expert at troubleshooting and problem solving in a technical environment
* Cross-group awareness, and ability to drive results across teams
* Strong partner interaction/communication skills and presentation skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* One or more years experience as a Release Manager or experience in an operations or datacenter organization
* Experience shipping complex products or managing complicated projects within deadlines and scope
* Identifies and drives continuous improvement efforts and rapidly adopts new process changes implemented by others
* Some non-standard work hours will be required
Preferred:
* Bachelors degree in CS or Engineering
