MANAGER, PROCUREMENT
Responsible for assisting the Director of Procurement in the development, approval, and implementation of a new procurement organization and spend management strategies; collaborating with numerous key stakeholders, functional spend owners, procurement professionals, and extended supply chains to develop, implement, and monitor procurement processes that ensure best in class purchasing.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage and coordinate spend management strategies within multiple procurement categories such as marketing, print, store supplies, technology, and business services
Engage with key functions to ensure that procurement decisions achieve customers’ desired outcomes for service and cost, and fully leverage company-wide procurement activities
Manage ongoing supplier evaluations
Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge procurement best practices that will drive business results
Manage multiple high-risk, high-cost projects involving multiple stakeholders and determine project and process priorities while making rapid course corrections when plans do not produce desired results
Set-up and qualify new vendors within business requirements
May create vendor RFP’s as requested and negotiate business terms with selected vendors
Create and implement purchasing strategy in line with business objectives
Assist in negotiating long-term contracts with suppliers and vendors
Maintain high ethical practices and ensure fairness in all transactions and contacts
Key qualifications include, but are not limited to:
Experience in/with professional procurement and best practices
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance or Business; MBA desirable
5-7 years of Procurement experience
Minimum of 1-3 years of direct supervisory experience
Certification by National Association of Purchasing Management desirable
Strong organization and communication skills
Proven efficient negotiating skills; strong contract knowledge a plus
C.P.M. Certified (Through Institute for Supply Management)
Self motivated and results oriented
Strong analytical skills
Strong background in developing processes and procedures
Understanding of Sarbanes Oxley compliance
Understanding and experience applying strategic planning practices to establish procurement goals and designing efficient, executable procurement plans
Knows industry trends, economic outlooks, commodity pricing and other procurement-related issues, and experience developing a system for company-wide sharing of information
Experienced in using procurement technology, e.g. electronic sourcing, web enabled requisitioning, travel and expense booking/reimbursement
Experienced with ARIBA or similar procurement products preferred
Travel estimated at 10-15%
