Explanation Statement
John Deere World Headquarters, in Moline, IL is seeking an Avionics Technician to troubleshoot, repair, maintain and inspect all electrical and avionics systems on Deere & Company owned aircraft. In this position, you will:
Troubleshoot, inspect and repair avionics systems.
Perform Post flight inspections.
Fueling and towing of aircraft.
Assist flight crews with departures and arrivals.
Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and assigned holidays.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
Associates degree in Aviation Maintenance, Avionics Training or equivalent experience.
Must hold a valid Airframe & Powerplant certificate or FCC license.
Required Skills and Experience
Five years verifiable line level avionics troubleshooting experience.
Good working knowledge of modern business jet avionics systems, such as Auto-pilot, flight director, EFIS, nav-comm systems, radar, EGPWS, Satcom and air data systems including RVSM.
Experience using wiring schematics.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Must be able to pass FBI background check.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally.
Good communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
Willing to work in a team environment.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience with Honeywell EFIS and FMS.
Experience with Citation and Gulfstream avionics systems.
Good working knowledge of Minimum Equipment List (MEL’s), Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) and maintenance documentation.
