The Financial Communications division of McGraw-Hill Professional, has an exciting opportunity for aGeneral Manager-Financial Communications , based in our Boston, MA office. Financial Communications is a provider of print and digital communications solutions for the financial services industry. Financial Communications (FC) offers banks, funds and brokerages the high-impact marketing materials, financial education products, and electronic tools they need to successfully attract and retain customers.

Essential responsibilities include the following:

Develop the strategic vision, long-term objectives, and tactical plans for Financial Communications to deliver revenue growth and profitability of FC. Own the P&L for the business. Lead directors (Sales, Editorial, Design, Digital, Marketing) to meet/exceed their top and bottom line objectives, providing oversight and thought leadership.

Lead Sales & Marketing teams to acquire new business and develop short- and long-range sales plans to achieve leading market position.

Deliver long and short range revenue and profit goals by directing, planning, and evaluating the financial, physical and human resources of the group. Provide direction and leadership to the editorial, sales, design, and digital groups to ensure effective execution of the strategic plan; identify areas of efficiency and savings; and maximize resources.

Lead strategic development of new products and services, brand identity, and opportunities for growth. Build senior-level relationships with clients. Represent FC to the financial services community and interact regularly with prospects, vendors, partners and internal stakeholders.

Develop and expand digital product development; oversee transition of FC from print-based to digital business and from an agency model to product-provider-model.

Guide FC's Directors of Sales, Marketing, Product Design and Editorial to identify lucrative product categories to enter and develop and eliminate unprofitable or low potential product lines.

Collaborate with finance, human resources, and execution teams (production, technology) to ensure that proper and sufficient support exists to grow the business. Coach, manage, grow and mentor the existing team of employees.

10-15 years business experience, at least 5 years in a financial content-focused environment (financial media, financial services, or financial technology). MBA preferred.

Track record for driving sales results.

Experience in developing and managing digital products, working with technologists, and understanding of digital technologies.

P&L / line management and strong operating and financial skills to ensure the proper control of assets, and to monitor and control costs while maintaining quality standards.

Knowledge of competition and financial industry trends to develop leading strategies.

Highly developed communication skills. Candidate must be an effective "public face" of Financial Communications.

Experience in recruiting, managing, coaching, and developing employees.

Ability to develop employees in a transformational environment.

Thorough understanding of selling professional services solutions.

Facility with contracts and negotiations; comfortable negotiating detailed agreements while maintaining "big picture."

Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment.
