Responsible for supporting Project Engineers and producing accurate drawing packages for complex power delivery projects and proposals including plan views, elevations, single line and three line diagrams, electrical interconnect drawings, and structural / electrical details, and a detailed bill of material. Must be able to complete complex drawing packages with minimal/no supervision from sketches provided by others.

Qualifications
*Associate's Degree in Drafting and Design Technology.
*Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design of power systems or equipment.
*Minimum of 2 years of drafting experience in AutoCAD or Micro station including CAD standards.
Eligibility requirements:
*15% travel required to support design projects including out of town meetings and site visits.
Desired
*Understanding of design drafting practices and engineering systems utilized in the power industry.
*Familiar with electrical drawing symbols and be able to read one-lines, three-lines, and schematics.
*Experience creating cable tables and schedules as well as cable routing and conduit/raceway fill requirements.
*Familiarity with web-based design collaboration sites and drawing management systems.
*Great communicator who can effectively interface with a multi-discipline engineering team (including remote teams) as well as project managers.
*Detail orientated with good organizational and time management skills. Continually strives for a professional product.
*Customer service orientated with experience following quality assurance processes while working in a projects schedule-driven environment.
*Quick learner able to adapt to various customer standards.
*Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrical Designer for power systems or for power equipment.
*Strong preference for substation and switchyard design experience.
*Design experience with civil foundations, steel detailing, and electrical applications such as support structures and insulators.
*Experience with MV and HV bus construction and material details.
*Experience with grounding materials and requirements.
*Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and NEMA SG6.
*Field installation and construction experience in the power industry.
*Proficient with both AutoCAD and Micro station.
*Ability to create section views and elevations from plan views including a detailed bill of material.
*AutoCAD LISP or VBA programming experience.
*Strong knowledge of desktop computers and Microsoft Office products.
*Working knowledge of NEC and NESC requirements.
