John Deere Power Systems is seeking a Project Manager to lead ongoing OEM engine application engineering projects. This includes working with sales and marketing to develop OEM product strategy for near and longer term product actions. In this position, you will:



Lead OEM Tactical Application Engineering for on-going products and develop plans and lead the application of Tier 4/Stage IIIb/IV engines with OEM customers.
Lead the OEM Tactical Application Engineering team of sales engineers, application technical leaders and technical writers including staffing, personnel development, coaching, and mentoring.
Lead technical relationship with engine distributors and direct OEM customers including leading the planning and execution of regular distributor technical meetings.
Work as a Sales Engineer for one or two key accounts.
Develop and manage the overall OEM Application Engineering budget.
Work with OEM Project and Application Design teams to ensure that customer requirements are met by new designs.
Participate in the OEM segment strategy teams as the primary OEM engineering team representative.
Support the Application Portfolio process and assist in prioritization of OEM projects. Work with Sales and Marketing teams to identify and prioritize new application projects. Develop innovative ways to fund and implement these projects.
Travel to trade shows, distributors and OEM's, supporting customer acquisition efforts as well as customer technical issue resolution.




Education

Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other equivalent technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Masters degree in an Engineering discipline or an MBA is a plus.


Required Skills and Experience

Significant product engineering experience.
3 or more years of leadership experience with engineering teams.
5 or more years of demonstrated experience working with engine design development or application.


Desired Skills and Experience

Experience with diesel engine aftertreatment applications.
Experience in engine/powertrain applications.
Experience developing engine application guidelines.
Experience working with engine controls.
Experience in cooling system design and development.
