John Deere Des Moines Works is seeking a Program Development Manager to manage wage training for a factory of 900 plus wage employees. In this position, you will:
Deliver relevant training in a timely manner to assure employees are properly trained, qualified, and certified to do their work. Various methods used are: classroom, online, factory classroom instructional technique, PC training, administering online and shop floor gap analysis, assuring certification requirements for job classifications, completing, filing, and administering government training grants, and developing curriculum. Manage one salaried trainer and five wage trainers direct.
Work extensively with the salaried training administrator and manufacturing engineering on work center specific training as well as factory metric reports related to Employee Development.
Be responsible for creating a positive factory experience for visitors by managing the Gold Key Tours, for employees by managing the ARAMARK Cafeteria partnership.
Work with the Communication Specialist on all Factory Wide Recognition events.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in preferred discipline (Education, Human Resources, Business, Finance, Engineering, Sales or Marketing) or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Skills and/or experience in investigating employee development needs, obtaining appropriate curriculum, and coordinating delivery of curriculum.
Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of systematic training approach.
Good written, verbal, and public communication skills.
Solid organizational skills to enable consistent execution of programs and projects.
Demonstrated project management experience and leading cross functional teams to achieve set goals.
Solid facilitation skills.
Desired Skills and Experience
Exposure to manufacturing curriculums such as welding, machining, and assembly.
Experience in business planning and budget management.
