Experienced strategic planning lead to drive Entertainment & Devices planning, strategy development and cross-divisional coordination. Role requires strong project management and leadership with ability to engage with key business group leaders to support strategy development and business planning efforts.

Director will have four key roles:
1. To coordinate E&D's annual strategy review process, including regular status check points and research/methodology support to each business group's strategy and finance teams. (support can include competitive and market analysis guidelines, business case modeling and industry insights, as well as providing tools and frameworks to support and guide BG efforts)
2. Work with Strategy lead and E&D CFO on the overall E&D strategy, portfolio prioritization and resource allocation.
3. To build and help maintain a central business intelligence hub for the division - including the strategy web site offering key reports, news feeds and strategy guides for the BGs; Director will also shepherd the development of key industry insight papers along with quarterly workshops/speaker series and other strategy outreach efforts to support the BGs and E&D divisional staff and executive leadership.
4. To support key strategy projects and segment investigations across the division in support of key objectives

Strategy team supports the CFO and E&D business groups to make sound decisions with a solid foundation of financial, market and customer insights

Overall strategy team tasks include performing market, industry and product evaluations for "client" business groups as needed, and bringing financial analysis and business segment forecasting and growth assessments. Team interacts with CSG and other Microsoft divisions to ensure knowledge sharing and support key initiatives as needed. Uses formal strategic planning and execution planning tools and methodology to identify and size market and product options, develop implementation plans and critical success factors. Perform competitive analysis and track and maintain ongoing information for use across the organization

Key skills
Project Management/status reporting
Market and industry analysis and forecasting methodology and tools, including portfolio and investment prioritization frameworks, capability gap analysis, market sizing, innovation/disruption; strategy maps etc).
Knowledge of Internet, mobile telecommunications, media and/or gaming segments an advantage
Prior background in consulting, banking or product planning preferable
Understanding of consumer, conjoint analysis and user experience research
