John Deere World Headquarters is seeking a Manager of Freight Forward (3PL) Relationships to lead relationships with freight forwarders and small parcel providers for the international transportation segment. In this position, you will:
Lead Strategic Sourcing Process in the evaluation, negotiation and selection of Freight Forwarders and Small Parcel providers on a global basis.
Act as the owner of relationships with these providers on a global basis. This will include administration of John Deere’s Achieving Excellence program.
Provide the enterprise with expert knowledge as it relates to import and export documentation and requirements in the freight forwarding segment
Provide valuable support to global sourcing programs with input in the areas of Incoterm expertise, Vendor Managed Inventory processes and visibility tools.
Education
Four year degree in a Business / Management, Supply Management, or Logistics disciplines or equivalent experience required.
MBA desired.
Required Skills and Experience
At least 10 years active experience with Freight Forwarder or Small Parcel segments (either as a service provider or on behalf of a shipper).
Expert knowledge and practical experience in all aspects related to export and import operations.
Familiarity with terms and conditions, pricing methodologies and contract items related to freight forwarding and Small Parcel segments.
Willingness to travel (US & International) up to 25%.
Experience in leading and developing project teams.
Desired Skills and Experience
Six Sigma or related quality experience.
Cross Cultural Business experience.
Demonstrated Supervisory / Managerial experience.
