Demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes for an area or business segment. Has the experience or expertise to solve problems. Able to develop & execute objectives for self & others. This role has the ability to effect short-term & some long-term business goals.
* Provide technical leadership for assigned processes & projects attaining quality excellence with cost superiority & assure all parameters to support the manufacturing process in obtaining the highest level of customer satisfaction for the best value.
* Establish cost estimates & aid in the establishment of manufacturing plans from design concepts.
* Lead in the development of programs/methods to optimize producibility, reduce cycle time, manufacturing losses & overall shop cost.
* Assure adherence to quality control systems/plan.
* Implement the necessary monitors to provide accurate data feedback to assure that products, processes, & projects are reflective of GE business objectives.
* Identify opportunities for cost reduction.
* Recommend changes to improve efficiency & reduce costs.
* Responsible for the development of the total manufacturing or quality plan of assigned components.
* Develop programs to achieve high equipment uptime & reliability for equipment including evaluating current & future programs to assure maintainability & reliability.
* Actively work with design engineering to represent QTP organization in establishing producible parts meeting customer & quality requirements at minimum cost.
* Assist in meeting cost goals, delivery requirements & contractual requirements for both military & commercial programs, domestic & foreign.
* Catalog & maintain equipment & process files for other process center personnel utilization.
* Assist in negotiations by supplying technical data to Sourcing such as trade-off studies, suppliers, selection, should cost preparation & input to financial representative for use in cost & price analysis.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED and at least 4 years of manufacturing experience).
* At least 3 additional years of experience in a manufacturing process or methods planning or value engineering environment.
Desired
* Previous experience with advanced materials including fiber reinforced composites, composite application for the aerospace industry and resin based composites.
* Strong organization skills.
* Knowledge of engine components, manufacturing, assembly, testing and quality methods, procedures, systems and requirements.
* Ability to develop alternative approaches to solve complex problems.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Knowledge of production cost and measurements.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
* Proficient in the adaptation of concepts, theories, and principles to analyze problems.
* Knowledge of TIG, PTA, EBW, Resistance welding, and Torch/Vacuum brazing.
* Familiarity with and the use of CAD and manufacturing software.
