John Deere Thibodaux is seeking a Supply Management Specialist to source & procure commodities and manage supplier relationships for the Thibodaux unit. In this position, you will:
Source and cost purchased materials (steel, hardware & other assigned commodities) to support both new and current products at the Thibodaux operation.
Work with the enterprise/division supply management organization to identify sourcing strategies.
Manage assigned supply base to insure material availability.
Maintain supplier relationships to monitor and improve supplier performance, define corrective actions and negotiate with suppliers in order to resolve short-term performance problems.
Support Engineering Change Management (ECM) process so design changes and product improvements are implemented in a timely and cost effective manner.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in an Accounting/Finance, Business/Management, Engineering/Technology or Supply Management discipline highly preferred or equivalent education and experience.
Required Skills and Experience
Understanding of purchasing processes.
Excellent interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Understanding of factory/ unit processes and operations.
Experience in a specific area of Supply Management such as: supplier quality, supplier integration, strategic supply management, supplier development, scheduling, forecasting, logistics, etc.
Project management experience.
Work experience in a team environment.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Desired Skills and Experience
Ability to read blueprints or part prints.
Background or work experience in steel commodities.
Basic understanding of general mechanics of agricultural equipment.
Experience with AS400 and/or SAP.
