Explanation Statement
John Deere Construction and Forestry Division, in Moline, IL, is seeking a Marketing Representative to join our development program. The objective of this position is to gain an understanding of sales, marketing and product support processes prior to possible field placement. In this position, you will:
Perform professional marketing.
Manage dealer product support operations in a limited territory.
Manage dealer sales operations in a limited territory.
Become proficient in product instructional training for one product.
Lead project management assignments.
Participate in training related to product, sales, and marketing processes, etc.
Deliver and or assist with product promotional events.
Travel with selected field managers to gain experience with distribution/sales channels.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology desired or equivalent hydraulic/electrical experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance or Economics desired.
Required Skills and Experience
Travel requirement could be up to 75% (domestic).
Open to relocation within the United States.
Must have initiative, leadership skills, excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and must be a team player.
Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint.
Mechanical aptitude (hydraulics and electrical knowledge desired).
Desired Skills and Experience
Field sales and/or product support experience.
Demonstrated sales and marketing skills.
Experience in a broad range of marketing related job functions especially centered around channel management.
General business knowledge with an understanding of the various divisions of the company.
Knowledge of construction and forestry products and services.
Strong presentation skills.
Basic statistical analysis skills.
