Overview :
This position will be responsible for the company wide P&L forecast that is used to help determine guidance on company performance and help senior management make informed decisions about company spending. Strong GAAP accounting knowledge is key for success in this role. This position will work closely with the Budget Analyst group to gather information and then analyze the data provided and ask questions and follow up as necessary. This position will also monitor and report of the contracts reviewed by Finance to ensure proper inclusion and accounting treatment in the financials. Two staff will report into this position, one working on the forecast, and one working on and helping to coordinate the contract review process.
It is key in this position that the candidate takes initiative, be a driver, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, and have a high regard for the accuracy of the end product. This candidate must be detail oriented and committed to accurate, thoroughly reviewed results. It is also important that this candidate have management experience and a proven track record of achieving high quality results.
Responsibilities :
Forecasting process and forecast updates. This includes the 9 scheduled quarterly forecast updates as well as reporting around this process to improve the current output. Inherent in this process will come learning the business and learning Medicis.
Oversight of the Finance Contract review process and related reporting. Coordination with the Financial Reporting group to ensure proper accounting treatment, and follow up to ensure future financial implications noted are tracked and monitored.
Coaching, mentoring, leading staff.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree
7-10 years experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting. Strong Excel skills required. Detail oriented.
CPA license preferred.
