The Commodity Leader will function as the business and industry-sourcing expert for the Utility commodity and support the Facilities commodity. Through strong technical/market expertise and leadership skills a successful candidate will:
* Lead a global team in accomplishing key commodity objectives.
* Manage ~$100M Utility/ ~$185M Facilities commodity through activities such as spend analysis, supplier development, supplier negotiations, and contract implementation across Infrastructure.
* Drive Sourcing Initiatives including deflation, cash flow improvement, terms and conditions, capacity, and cycle reduction.
* Develop complex, global and comprehensive supplier / buyer contractual and strategic relationships.
* Set long-term vision and short-term goals for the team through GE's business planning cycles (i.e. Growth Playbook, SII- financial plan for the upcoming year, & Operating Plans).
* Drive supplier selection, development, and overall supplier management.
* Develop strategies and drive negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives.
* Participate in Corporate Initiatives Group (CIG) activities and leverage corporate contracts.
* Build team cohesiveness, inclusiveness and develop high performing team with strong internal / external customer focus.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of Strategic Sourcing, Facilities, Finance, or Supply Chain experience.
* BS / BA degree in Engineering , Management , Sourcing or Finance.
* Minimum of 2 years experience with managing global suppliers and/or customers.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in team leadership / management.

Desired
* Strong financial , quantitative and data analysis skills.
* Strong knowledge of the electricity and natural gas commodity markets.
* Experience in financial hedge instruments , particularly as applied to natural gas and electricity commodities.
* Utilities and/or Facilities sourcing experience.
* Strong interpersonal skills - ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization while conducting Sourcing support in both union and non-union shop environments.
* GE Program Graduate (GE employees only).
* C.P.M. Certification.
* MS / MBA/Graduate Degree.
* Black Belt Certified (GE employees only).
* Ability to thrive in a diverse, cross-functional, cross-business team environment.
* Proven track record of delivering on challenging goals and commitments.
* Contract Negotiation experience.
