Windows Mobile is one of the fastest growing businesses in Microsoft and the key to winning in this space is for us to partner closely with Mobile Operators and OEMs to ship a healthy portfolio of signature devices into the market year over year. This is a great time to join the mobile revolution as we are currently building a new team and looking for an experienced self-starter Development Manager to build/lead this team in partnership with key US Operators and ship the first wave of Windows Mobile 7 phones!
This Development Manager will play a pivotal role in growing the team to scale the growth of Windows Mobile business with Mobile Operators over the coming years and he/she will be responsible for delivering a unique Windows Mobile proposition that seamlessly integrates software, hardware and Microsoft/Operator services into an irresistible phone for the US market that will go to millions of users. We need a deep technical leader who has highly developed design skills, excellent knowledge of C/C++, superior project management capability, excellent engineering process discipline, and who truly enjoys working with customers externally.
A BA/BS or higher degree in CS or a related technical discipline and 10+ years of relevant professional development experience, with at least two or more of those years as a lead, is required. Experience in hiring, leading and motivating strong successful development teams is necessary for this role and the ability to work closely and diplomatically with external customers, internal development teams, and product planning is essential. Candidates must possess the ability to work strategically and surgically with large codebases acquired from other sources, and be willing to take on varied challenges as the need arises. Experience with Windows CE/Windows Mobile, UI design, Silverlight and embedded systems are big pluses.
