Program Manager, E&D Systems

Become part of the team working to deliver innovative systems solutions to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of Microsoft Entertainment & Devices. Help build the IT systems infrastructure and supply chain solutions in support of Xbox, Zune, new and exciting consumer software and games, or the latest Microsoft hardware offering.
If you wish to become a key part of a fun and fast paced team and leverage your project management and IT savvy with an emphasis on manufacturing, supply chain planning and business process integration we are looking for you!
Core Elements of the position:
Your day to day responsibilities will include implementing new IT functionality, managing business process and systems implementation projects, configuration of existing custom and packaged systems including SAP R/3 to support the E&D Manufacturing & Supply Chain business processes. You will collaborate with our internal clients and external partners to understand and synthesize business requirements into a systems solution that will leverage existing architecture and software where possible.

This job presents the opportunity to:
Use your deep knowledge of industry best practices and system capabilities to design and deploy system solutions for a specific functional area in close collaboration with project team members and parallel initiatives.
Work with business process owners to understand business needs, navigate through legacy practices and layers to understand core business requirements, while driving adoption of industry best practice and preferred methods to arrive at an optimized system and process solution.
Advocate the adoption of world class process and system configurations, where possible, as opposed to unique or custom solutions. Demonstrate benefits of a standard approach while ensuring that key business objectives and metrics are met.
Develop functional and technical specifications for resulting configuration and development, interfaces and reports as necessary. Work with development and test leads to ensure the solutions are delivered to specifications within schedule and budget constraints.
Participate in end user training and testing, resolving process and systems issues to ensure proper implementation and integration of the new solution. Provide post go-live support and troubleshooting as necessary.
Plan and execute the implementation of technical solutions for assigned business areas/revenue streams by identifying resource requirements, preparing project milestones, managing end user expectations and ensuring that project scope is contained.
Develop functional specifications for interfaces and reports. Work with development and test leads to ensure systems functionality are developed and tested in a timely fashion and meet the business needs.
Work with project team members to ensure timely and complete sign-off for appropriate project milestones and proper adoption of delivered systems capability, including ensuring that dependent manual business processes are documented and adopted.
Scope and plan new projects - identify implementation approach and estimate overall implementation timeline/cost.
Evaluate requests for changes or enhancements by considering the capabilities of existing systems capabilities to satisfy these needs. Document the required functional specifications for requests submitted from internal users. Provide timely status reporting for assigned projects.
Review business change requests, provide cost/schedule estimate and then implement the solutions either directly through systems configuration or indirectly by working with internal and external development groups through the development of functional and technical specifications.

Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years experience working in a supply chain environment with at least 5 years in a systems implementation, project management, process analysis, and applications delivery role.
A minimum of 5 years hands-on work experience implementing SAP modules relevant in an outsourced consumer electronics manufacturing environment.
Deep functional, hands-on expertise (including configuration and detailed functional specifications) implementing SAP modules, preferably in Materials Management (MM) and Sales and Distribution (SD) modules of SAP. A good understanding of related Production Planning (PP) functionality and cross-application/technical knowledge (EDI, ALE, BASIS, ABAP Workbench).
Self-starter that can deal with ambiguity, maintain focus, drive clarity and deliver results.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Team player with proven ability to work in diverse teams.
Sound problem resolution and decision making skills. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks to schedule and collaborate across multiple groups. The individual selected for this position should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Solid understanding of software architectures, software development life cycle, and Microsoft products are essential.
A BA/BS degree, preferably in a Quantitative Business (Economics, Statistics, or MIS), Engineering (Operations/Industrial) or Computer Science related fields
