Role Purpose:
The Senior Product Manager for Business and Lifecycle Planning on the Mobile Services team is responsible for establishing and running the analytic infrastructure for identifying, tracking and managing the core performance levers for the Windows Live / MSN Mobile services P&L. This role sets the strategic focus of the R&D, product management and the field on the critical factors enabling the business to transition from incubation to massive scale. This position requires developing a thorough understanding of the revenue structure and associated drivers across a wide array of go-to-markets and channels and stream-lining these efforts around high growth opportunities. This leader will build out the detailed business and customer KPIs and drive performance assessment with the markets as well as push for innovation in tracking and reporting as we grow greater sophistication in business analytics. A key area of focus is the development of business intelligence frameworks for measuring the health of the user base, particularly in building the churn analysis approach across all of our services businesses, and driving insights from this work into the product development and product management activities in Redmond and in the markets. The successful candidate in this role will build strong relationships with the finance organizations in OSB and in MCB as well with the Business Reporting R&D team and will be recognized as the Mobile Services business and customer dynamics expert.
Detailed responsibilities:
Drive finance organization around budgeting, forecasting and tracking to achieve FY plans for WL and MSN mobile services
Take a bottoms-up approach to our current product families and revenue reporting approach to improve our optics on the business.
Analyze business performance through product, channel, country, and GTM views to determine critical factors to scale and drive this learning through the organization.
Lead the business in the transition of business models from wholesale fees to advertising through understanding of industry business dynamics and our current performance.
Drive reporting requirements into the R&D team for improved business tools for both the Redmond and field based analysis.
Own churn research and associated frameworks for identifying customer churn dynamics by service type and operator. Utilize results from this effort to drive new customer insight into product management team and R&D.
Partner closely with the COI and CS field on delivering against FY09 KPIs on the field scorecards. Synthesize in market activities into action plan for internal teams to enable successful field execution.
Advance our set of performance measures to better track the progress towards the tipping point towards scale. Evangelize these measures and transform the organizations view of the business towards critical factors enabling massive growth.

Required Qualifications:

8+ years working experience leading internationally-focused teams in a consumer products or online media business
5+ years in a Mobile-specific or Telecommunications-related industry.
Demonstrated ability to influence senior decision makers in defining and delivering consumer products or services in a global or regional market place
Superior analytic skills and ability to communicate across finance, field, business, marketing and product organizations
Knowledge of the online advertising business
Product management experience with software and/or online media & programmed content
Relevant experience in a product planning, product development or product management
Ability to influence teams through collaboration and strong communication, especially in a highly fluid environment
Strong management and leadership skills, ideally in a fast paced and complex international environment
Strong analytical, critical thinking and communications skills
Demonstrated business judgment and product strategy experience
MBA preferred
