John Deere Corporate Engineering is seeking a Senior Engineer to manage the global acquisition of real estate (three to six per year with property valuations up to and over $10M) required to support the needs of business units and service divisions by applying professional engineering and business knowledge of facility development, building and land costs, legal and financial analysis to assess financial viability of transactions. In this position, you will:

Coordinate all activities with Legal, Finance, Risk Management and EHS to ensue Deere's legal, financial, environmental and risk management interest and exposures are protected; coordinate with other Facility Engineering disciplines.
Direct the real estate and facilities engineering processes supporting Enterprise Post Merger Integration. Lead the real estate activities for the M&A process.
Provide day to day work direction and assistance to a group of professional staff, primarily in the context of work needed against project plans.
Lead the search globally for leased property (ten to twenty new significant leases per year with valuations up to and over $20M) and conduct or assist in negotiations for lease term and contract conditions to ensure leases are properly structured to limit risk, meet operations needs and processed in a timely manner.
Provide financial review or analysis, documents review or development and Authorization for Lease (AFL) / Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) and (AFD) Authorization for Disposal preparation assistance.
Lead the global site selection process and analysis for facility and site searches and evaluations. In addition, lead the divestiture process for major property sales (four to seven per year up to and over $20M).

Qualifications

Education

Engineering degree required; Civil or Facilities Engineering degree preferred.
Required Skills and Experience

Excellent communication and negotiation skills; have demonstrated successful negotiation experiences.
In-depth understanding of general contracting.
Experience in directing and managing outside contractors to complete projects on time and on budget.
Excellent project management and business planning skills.
Experience managing diverse stakeholder inputs.
Solid business and financial acumen.
Desired Skills and Experience

Real Estate, site development experience strongly preferred.
MBA.
Facilities Engineering, Accounting, Legal experience.
Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases.
Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools.
